In recent years the incidence of eating disorders has rapidly increased and there are several reasons for this growth. We focus not only on the current therapeutic options for the treatment of these diseases but we also try to point out the danger which goes hand in hand with eating disorders, health complications and raising mortality of patients with the diagnosis of mental bulimia and mental anorexia. Mechanisms of the controlled food consumption within the eating disorders and their use in addictology: qualitative study

Background: One of the great recent topics in addiction medicine is controlled use. Despite not having a clear definition, the term is universally associated with addictive substances. However, its use can also be found in eating disorders. Individuals who are trying to recover from eating disorders must eat in a controlled manner. Unlike addictive substances, this is not a choice, as food is essential to life and abstaining from food is not an option, like abstaining from an addictive substance. I find this connection very interesting and therefore I would like to deal with the mechanisms of controlled eating and its comparison in addictology in my bachelor thesis. Aim: The core of the research is to map the mechanisms by which people with eating disorders engage in controlled eating. In this thesis, I am looking for mechanisms in two types of eating disorders, bulimia and binge eating. The second aim is then to compare these mechanisms with controlled eating. For my thesis I have chosen controlled alcohol use. The third aim is to compare how these mechanisms also coincide with addiction treatment in addiction medicine. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts typical for this issue focusing on history, development and newer trends, not just an active lifestyle. Awareness of the risks of eating disorders on adolescents

Bachelor's thesis focuses on the awareness of adolescent eating disorders. It consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part focuses on the history of the development of ideal beauty and notions of self-concept and body image. It also discusses the topic of eating disorders, the definition of better- known and lesser known diseases, and resources that teachers and parents to tackle this problem use. The practical part contains the results of the survey questionnaires that were designed to find out how pupils 2nd grade, one particular school, satisfied or dissatisfied with your body, then how these students are and their teachers informed about eating disorders.

Influence of the school environment for developing eating disorders gaze of ex-patient of Havlíčkobrodsko

This diploma thesis deals with eating disorders, their causes and displays. It is based on the assumption that former patients are able to assess what was the main cause of their problems. The theoretical part defines particular eating disorders, their history, risk factors of their emergence, diagnosis, epidemiology and health complications accompanying this diseases. The practical part focuses on obtaining information by friendly interview with open questions. The qualitative research includes case studies of six women, four of them are over the age of 20 years and two of them over the age of 40 years. The main objective was to discover how they were affected by the school environment in relation to her own body and what attitude do they have to the prospective prevention programs at our schools. The part with recommendations tries to enlarge already existing prevention programs at schools. There are some proposals for cooperation between schools and professional institutions, workshops with patients and some suggestions to lessons of Health education. Further there are mentioned some projects focused on interpersonal relationships and healthy lifestyle. Finally, there are some suggestions focused on education of teachers and parents of students in the prevention of ED.

Treatment of eating disorders through neurostimulation methods

Background: Eating disorders are psychiatric illnesses whose treatment is difficult and usually the classic procedures fail. Recently, the number of researches in neuromodulatory methods has increased. I present an overview of basic stimulation methods, their use in the treatment of anorexia nervosa (AN), bulimia nervosa and binge-eating and the results of our study focused on the treatment of AN by transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). Methods: It was a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled trial. Forty-three inpatients with AN were divided to receive either active (n=22) or sham (n=21) tDCS over the left DLPFC (anode F3/cathode Fp2, 2mA for 30 minutes). All patients filled the Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire (EDE-Q) and Zung depression scale (ZUNG), we measured them the thermal pain threshold, the objective dissatisfaction with their own body by Anamorfic program and evaluated BMI before the first and after the last tDCS. Follow-up was after 2 and 4 weeks. It was evaluated using ANOVA and OPLS model. Results: Compared to sham tDCS, active tDCS improved self-evaluation based on one's body shape (p < 0,05) and significantly decreased the need of excessive control over calorie intake (p < 0,05) in 4-week follow-up (questions 4 and 23 in EDE-Q). Knowledge of pupils 9. classes selected primary schools about eating disorders

This bachelor's thesis is focused mainly on the knowledge of 9th-grade pupils of selected primary schools about eating disorders (shortly ED). Among other things, it aimed to find out whether pupils had ever heard of ED and, if so, where they had heard about it. A partial goal of this bachelor thesis was also to show whether these pupils know about someone who suffers or has suffered from an eating disorder. If they know of such a person, who this person is? Another partial goal was to clarify whether pupils can identify the symptoms of ED and to whom they would confide their concerns, in case of suspicion of ED within their friends. Furthermore, this work focused on whether the pupils involved are aware of the potential threat to themselves in terms of ED. Last but not least partial goal of the work was to find out the relationship between stigmatization and ED. An anonymous questionnaire survey was used to obtain information The results show that pupils have 58 % knowledge of ED. Everyone has heard of ED at some point, with the media being most involved in the responses. 60 % of pupils know of someone with ED, most often a publicly known person. Eating disorders and smoking

This Bachelor Thesis is dealing with eating disorders caused by smoking. Thesis is divided into two main parts - theory and practice. The history of eating disorders, definition of each type of eating disorders, treatment examples and health complications of the disorder are covered in the first theoretical part. Also, there are disclosed the history of smoking, ways of treatment of the tobacco dependence and health consequences of smoking. At the end of the theoretical part there are discussions about the relations between smoking and weight, smoking and eating disorders, relapse of the disease when quitting smoking and about e-smoking among people with eating disorders. Practical part of this thesis contains of the research in a way of the survey. The questionnaire was made in two languages - Russian and Czech, in order to get greater amount of the respondents and to get more diverse answers. A link to the questionnaire was distributed by social media and web pages. Questionnaire was available to fill out from 13. 02. 2018 to 12. 03. 2018 and in total I received 101 respondents (54 for Czech version and 47 for Russian).
